WE ARE A GREEN FLAG ECO SCHOOL!

The eco committee have some amazing news…

We are now a GREEN FLAG ECO SCHOOL! We have worked very hard this year to attain the green flag and we can officially say that we have achieved it! Matt from Eco Schools Wales visited us on Friday and he said that he was very impressed with our school. We were so over the moon with the news that we had to call an emergency eco assembly to tell the whole school!

All the hard work doesn’t stop there though! We will continue to give our best this year to make our school a better place. We can’t wait for our next challenge!

Go Green Day!

We all really enjoyed our ‘Go Green Day’ as all the children came to school dressed in green and completed lots of fun activities throughout the day!

Nursery were eco warriors and promised that they would take care of our beautiful environment! They made lovely hand print paintings.

Reception/Year 1 learnt all about climate change and they made a pledge to reduce their carbon footprint. They even put up new eco posters around their class!

Year 2/3/4 discussed how they could reduce their carbon footprint and completed fun activities.

Year 5/6 spoke about climate change and how they can help our environment. They made posters to make other people aware!

Eco Club Week 5

This week we went on an outdoor scavenger hunt in the glorious weather! We had a tick sheet to follow and we had to evidence what we found using iPads.

Seems as though it was the last day in eco club, we all had a lovely cup of hot chocolate in the sunshine.

Eco Club Week 4

This week we didn’t let the bad weather stop our fun! We decided to do an indoor scavenger hunt and we went around the school in groups trying to find all things green! It was super competitive as they had to do it within a time frame.

Eco Club Week 2 & 3

Week 2 was very quiet in Eco Club as Year 2/3/4 were on a trip so the year 5/6 pupils completed their recycling poster to take home.

During week 3 we were very excited to complete a litter pick! We really enjoyed making our school and surrounding area a cleaner and better place. We filled 2 bin bags!!!
