Mrs Jones’s Class News!

This half term has been a busy one. I am so proud of all the children who tried so hard with the National Tests. I am certain everyone gave their very best and that is all we can ask of them.

For our Tribe topic we have learnt about the different clans in Wales during the time of the Iron Age Celts. We found out about bog bodies and wrote a newspaper article about a bog body discovery. We learnt about roundhouses and recreated some using mud and sticks during our forest schools session. We have also learnt about the daily life of a Celt, their religion and Celtic symbols.

We especially loved our trip to St Fagans and visiting the Celtic village. It was a wonderfully sunny day and we all learnt lots more about how the Celts lived in the past as well as exploring the inside of a roundhouse. When we came back to school, we wrote a recount of our trip and used Hwb to create a graph to show our favourite buildings in St Fagans.

We were sad to say goodbye for now to Mrs Rumble who went off to have her baby but have enjoyed Mr Morgan coming in every Friday for ukulele lessons. We have all been making some wonderful tunes.

Y4 have enjoyed their cycling proficiency lessons and loved the obstacle courses they have had to manoeuvre around.

As always, please could we have your continued support with reading books being sent back in on the correct day.

It’s very important that your child reads frequently at home.

Have a lovely half term.
