Miss Thomas’s Class News!

This half term has been very busy practising for the National Tests where all children tried their absolute best! We have been so proud of them as they have worked so hard all year.

Rather than starting a new topic, we have had an exciting two weeks of science, ‘SCIENCE FORTNIGHT!’ We have completed exciting and fun investigations where children have completed them in small groups. The investigations have been: finding out how different liquids change in water, how our voices change through different materials, how fast ice melts in salt, how old we are on different planets and how air pressure works with water and paper. We have really enjoyed discovering science through a different method and through group work.

Year 5 & 6 have also celebrated the royal wedding, attended a Writers’ Day at Swansea University and have completed lots of story writing. Everyone is excited for our next topic, ‘The World Cup!’

We hope everyone has a lovely half term! Don’t forget to keep up to date with what is going on in class with ‘SeeSaw’ and ‘Class Dojo.’
